About the podcast.
Where storytelling is not just left at the kitchen table—and everyday histories are kept alive.

Your part of history deserves to be heard.
Many of us walk through life leaving a silent legacy. Uncovered Legacy is here to change that by keeping our stories alive. Each tale gives us a chance to learn, discover, listen, and remember.
I am your host, Curtis Burke. Join me for a trip around the world, through the smallest towns, biggest cities, oldest communities, and overlooked cultures.
About Curtis
My name is Curtis Burke. I am married with twin toddlers and live in Los Angeles, CA. I was born in Charleston, SC—known as the Low Country—and moved to Atlanta as a young teenager. I graduated from Tennessee State University with a bachelor’s degree in speech communication and theater, then earned a master’s degree in human development and social change from Pacific Oaks College.
While in graduate school, I became deeply interested in how humans grow, change, and socially evolve. After taking an ancestry DNA test, I experienced firsthand the limitations many Black Americans face when learning about our backgrounds. Investigating my own family legacy inspired me to start Uncovered Legacy.
The podcast gives ordinary people from a wide range of backgrounds a platform to preserve their stories, celebrate the people around them, and maintain the memory of their ancestors.
